9 cars, including my two and my sisters had windows and mirrors smashed in last night, quite a few of the local roads round my area had the same problem, someone's car got turned over, someones got set alight, why do they do this, and where were the police? probably sitting on their ****, actually ill take a minute part of that back two police cars came up the area, their response call the police! erm aren't YOU the police sorry for my morning rant but just so annoyed that this happened

yeah, the whole street called the police!, you'd of thought getting that many calls through they would have done something, obviously not

Where the hell do you live? Beirut?

(rhetoric).

Insurance for the win, then.... :(

taplow near maidenhead, i've lived there now for 10years 8months and i've never seen anything like this happen before i know we had rough surrounding areas like slough, britwell and burnham but ARGHHHHH,

unfrotunately its not insurance ***, insured under TPFT on both so cant claim

no it hasnt been keyed luckily but i've found a dent in the boot, from what i can tell the hit looks like a screwdriver did it, as you said datamonkey, taplow was "supposedly" a quiet zone, from what we saw last night came a different picture

Whilst I'm sure I'd be annoyed if it were my car (NO ONE touches me motor!) it did make me chuckle.

Gaz, sorry to hear of the damage.. I always did think the areas around taplow has an "ASBO" fever problem. Especially when the schmucks were jumping on my car outside the shop a few years back..

still remember that night actually,

Just got back from lunch, police left a voicemail saying that they wanted my wing mirror in for evidance, ok head of to burnham station CLOSED! due to staff shortages, ok go to Maidenhead one, err where do i park? saw an officer told me to park in sainsburys or waitrose got in there, they turn round and say no we cant get anything of these as theyre plastic.

Got the window sorted on my mk7 fiesta just set me back £88 going to take it in tomorrow for the wing mirror thats about another £90,

For the xr2i got a window been sent to me £20, now just got to source some wing mirrors for both sides

so far thats set me back about £200 not happy at all

Exactly!
A smashed car window is hardly a priority incident!
Expecting the police to drop everything and come rushing to help on one of the busiest nights for them is a tad unreasonable!!
A smashed car window is something that can certainly be left till the next day especially if it means the police can then help prevent serious crimes such as: assault, rape, drink driving…. Etc from occurring that night.

granted that it may not be a priority incident on an individual basis but when its an entire street affected i'd say thats pretty bad and some sort of priority, i wouldn't be suprised that they would be over worked unfortunately no one was arrested for this incident, this was posted on maidenhead advertiser's website

A campaign of terror was unleashed by youths on Halloween night as they overturned cars and smashed windows across Burnham and Taplow.

Gangs of youths, who were out in force for Halloween on Wednesday, plagued residential streets, smashing windows, vandalising cars and throwing stones and eggs.

Around 15 car windows were shattered along Taplow Road and at least one car was overturned.
Lent Rise Road, Maypole Road, Chiltern Road, Wendover Road and St Peter's Close were also identified as flashpoints for the disturbances, though no arrests were made.

Inspector Mick Park, neighbourhood inspector for South Bucks at Thames Valley Police, said: "This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated and Halloween and bonfire night should not been seen as an excuse for young people to go on the rampage.
"We are asking them to respect their community and for parents to make sure they know what their children are doing."

Anyone with information on the incidents should call PC Andy McDonnell at Burnham police station on 08458 505 505 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.

seems strange you didnt, went into the ford garage today in slough and they even knew about it.
