@INPUT
ive already said i dont like the spacing on that board for sli or crossfire
if you can find me a board just as capable as the extreme
with "x2 well spaced x16 lanes" and fun extras then let me see it.
If that's such a problem for you, couldn't you just use another lane, it might only run at 8x but I think there is like 3% difference or something. For the sake of £100+
that 3% is probably wot makes x2 460s outperform a single 480.
No one is saying they can. They're trying to offer you advise and suggest you don't go OTT on the board, trying to make you realise that its overkill for your needs. Trying to save you money!
If you don't want that I'm not sure why you posted here.
Yeah but its popular opinion that a single card is generally the better option. Plus, eventually if you did get one 480, you could then get another down the line and I don't need to explain how much that will destroy 2 460's
Ok, my gripe. The 460 lets you down.
u do realize its x2 460s ?
so wots all the fuss around the forums and reviews been for then?
these SLI 460s r supposed to be the dogs danglies for a couple of years yet!
is every1 talking ballsacks or wot m8?
inputs setup will do you fine for 4+yrs. Use the rest of your cash on a nice holiday, sounds as if it would do you good.

Frankly, that board is wasted without water cooling. And, if you are watercooling, tight gpu spacing is far less of an issue. Why not get a cheaper board and a wc the system, I am fairly sure you would get better results?
Although it seems you are just trying to justify buying it... in which case nothing we say will make any difference anyway. Enjoy your mobo.
