So some people may know, some people may not know, that I recently returned home from living in Australia for 6 months! I decided to go not as just a normal traveller but to see how I could cope with living where I knew no-one and had no one to rely on, and at that live in a beautiful country to! I decided to do this after I got ill and lost my memory, some of you may remember me posting two seperate threads containing an article about my memory loss!

Anyway so I thought it was about time I let everyone know how my trip went and to also post some pictures of it! They are in a bit of a random order but I will try and put them in some kind of chronological order and explain them all!

I started my travels with my father, he is a manager in the music industry and he was doing promotion with his latest artist Patrizio Buanne, the first place to do promo before Australia was Kuala Lumpar, which I spent a week in, travelling there and to neighbouring islands such as Kuala Terrenganu for the Monsoon sailing cup. Kuala Lumpar was amazing if not a bit sleezy, I was offered on my first night there very young prostitutes, and always approached for sales. I was living in style there in the Shangri-La hotel so that could explain why I was approached so much! From my hotel view you could see the Petronas Towers, the two tallest twin towers in the world:

1.jpg

They were huge, and even with all the amazingly tall buildings in KL these towers dwarfed them all, they had a bridge halfway up them joining them called the sky bridge, you can see me standing at the bottom of the towers here, but even this picture does not do any justice to the size of these bad boys!

After a week of spending time in this awesome country and buying lots of cheap dvd's it was time to move to the destination i started travelling for, Australia! I spent the next 5 1/2 months in Australia and saw some amazing views, the first thing I saw in Sydney was the harbour bridge and the opera house sitting right in front of me!

51.jpg

I never really got over that view! No matter where I went, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne of Phillip Island, I never quite got over it, just the two most iconic modern buildings this side of the world were right in front of me!

Perth - Still a beautiful city but so small compared to what I am used to!

Another view of perth.

MORE TO COME... PLEASE DONT POST UNTIL FINISHED

The wildlife and plant life in Australia is completely different and I enjoyed spending times in the botanical gardens when I needed to get my head straight and was home sick. There was a small structure in the botanical gardens where I used to sit and read my book, it headed facing straight out towards England. I used to sit there til sun set sometimes listening to relaxing music looking away from the harbour and just lost in my thoughts.

Beautiful sun set.

The harbour bridge in the background.

I was fortunate enough to see a rugby game while I was there and the warm-up was the armed forces, Great Britain vs. Australia

7.jpg

I even spent my first Christmas in a t-shirt.

After Christmas I started working in a bar in Darling Harbour where there was bowling lanes there aswell, which was rather strange!

looks really nice mate, ive been to KL so i can relate to the size of the towers, they ARE HUGE

never made the final leap to austrilia, its on places to visit

I made friends quite quickly to start with in Australia, and luckily enough made some good contacts with friends in Universal records, which meant free records. This lady was the most excitable hyper person I have ever met!

I ended up living in a place called west ryde which was kind of an out of the way place where there was really random signs like this:

But the place was lovely, if not out of the way here is where I first lived:

I had to help decorate with my house mate, who was very italian:

I spent most of my time in Australia here, but moved to Newtown, which was Sydneys equivalent to Camden and amazing. My new flat was awesome, had a balcony and a spiral staircase.

14.jpg

The local irish bar, the only place in Sydney I could find pints! This is where me and my friends started up the PINT club!

15.jpg

Here is me looking devilishly handsome nearer the end of my travels with a well established travellers beard:

16.jpg

While I was away I was fortunate enough to visit the penguins in Philip Island:
