My trip to the Silver Forest

Took a trip out today to a place called Surprise View in the peak district, there's a large expanse of silver birch trees (how big does it have to be to qualify as a forest? haha). Here's a few of my shots from today. bear with me, there's a fair few.

That's all that i deemed worthy to process. some i like more then others.
3, 8 and 13 being my favourites.

anyway, any thoughts welcome.

I really like number 3 but I don't know why... Strange.

What are the stones in #7? They look like millstones but they're far too small unless those ferns are huge

It's suprisingly hard getting good pics in a forest, so you've done well here. I like the last two best. Looks like you've got a pretty wide angle lens there, what were you using?

#3,4,5 were taken with my canon 28-105mm, rest with the sigma

2,8 & 12 - fantastic!

13 is cool too, but I can't help but feel it would have more impact with less depth of field :cool:

You could be right about 13, didn't think it at the time, was going for the two main twisty trees. the diffuse glow filter in photoshop is quickly becoming a favourite. some interesting effects can be achieved.
