I couldn't believe, when checking my past orders, it was 2012 when I bought the majority of the parts for my current build, it really has held up well, with the only upgrades being various HDD to SDD swapouts, a new case 18 months ago and jump from GTX970 to RTX3060Ti last October.

Outgoing : Intel i5-3750K, 16Gb DDR3, Gigabyte Z77X-DH3 Mobo, 620W Coolermaster Silent Pro, 2Tb Samsung Sata SSD, WD 4Tb HDD.

Incoming:

CPU : Intel i7 13700K
Mobo : MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WiFi DDR5
Memory : 64GB Corsair Vengeance 6000 CL40
PSU : Corsair RM850x
Storage : Solidigm P44 Pro 2Tb m.2
Storage : Solddigm P41 Plus 2Tb m.2 x 2
Cooler : Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120
Fans : BeQuiet! Silent Wings 4 Pro (4x140 1x120)

Case : Fractal North Black/Walnut Mesh side panel

Mouse : Logitech MX Master 3S
Keyboard : Keychron K10 with brown switches

GPU : Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti Vision OC (only thing being moved from old build as less than a year old!)

I'm keeping my two BenQ PD2500Q's for now, these may be replaced with a pair of 27" 4k screens once the boss has forgotten how much I've spent so far on this build!

I'll be interested to see how much snappier operating system is, as this will be a brand new fresh install of Win 11 Home. The 2012 system was installed with good old Windows 7, and has been through many OS updates but never a fresh install since the first one!

I'll get some pics up soon of the hoard of boxes that has accumulated in the spare room.

I love my 3750K, and even got a little upset when seeing the price they are going for on eBay, £2-£5 :(

I must have picked one hell of a chip ten years ago, as it really is still a good workhorse, only now on the latest versions of Photoshop and Premiere to I notice it struggling.

Enjoy your new system, have fun getting used to Windows 11

This is my biggest fear, I'm very comfortable with Win10, have done many tweaks under the hood to get working as smoothly as possible with the rest of my kit. Win 11 is going to be a new learning curve I guess, but hey, I made it through Vista so that should give me some confidence....shouldn't it?
