Hi,
Feel like a little bit of a 'tard. Just had my chainset replaced on my commuting bike and straight away I could hear a loud creaking coming from somewhere. I assumed that it might be something to do with the new bottom bracket and was dead-set on going to the bike shop and having a whinge. However I've been really busy the last few days and didn't have time.
This morning I had a quick check over the bike and applied some pressure to each pedal, while dismounted, to see if I could isolate the problem.
It was the front wheel.
They had taken it off but not tightened it sufficiently when they put it back.
Well at least it saved me some embarrassment in the shop. I have a bit of a history of mis-diagnosing problems and I definitely would have got laughed at.
