N00b to Xbox360

Not really been into consoles since Uni and GT4. But today after going into town to try and find a power lead for my N64 as mine suddenly stopped working I ended up getting an Xbox360 premium with 2 controllers, HD component cable, COD3, PGR and ProEvo6 for £320.

Looks awesome on my Toshiba 32WL66. Ive been playing it on 720p and COD3 visuals are stunning. I did try 1080i and it looked fine, much to my surprise as I didnt think my TV supported 1080i ?

Think I'll look into Xbox Live too when Sky finally sort out BB out, so may be playing some of you guys in the furture.
How can I get the 'Update' I have read about without broadband? Is it worth getting?

Some TVs whilst actually 720p native will accept and downscale 1080i. Congrats on the 360 purchase I dont think you will be disappointed!

Just connect it up to the internet and it will do it automatically.

I haven't got Broadband yet

Don't fancy doing it on 56k

You dont NEED it for anything so dont worry. It'll turn up on games in january if your still unplugged. Microsoft might release a dic or downloadable ISO too

No...it,s a 720p display (1366x768)

only there 42wlt66 and up is 1080i

COD3 said that it needed to update the console when I put that in. Maybe that came with the update already on?

I bought a N64 for £16 but that had no power supply (Didn't know if it was the lead or cable) So took that back disappointed I couldn't play goldeneye and on the way back to my flat I popped into another shop and had a moment of impulse

Just won a power supply on an 'online auction' for £4 anyway

Awesome game, Ive completed it and got all the health, don't think I have the time to play it all again. Might have to get a Wii just for Zelda. It's bound to be ace, especially fighting for real lol. Mind you that sort of game is one I used to play with my brother. Not quite the same when your sat playing games like them on your own

Zelda for the NES was in the second hand shop today. £29.99! Yes the NES!What the hell :eek:

I dont think so no. Mine came up with the update too and i was already on the latest dash so id imagine its purely a game update.

It's 1080p (progressive) that most LCD's don't yet support.

Afaik most LCD's on the market will support 1080i (interlaced)
