N73 Always Displaying GPRS Connection Available Icon

My boss just got a new N73 but his GPRS connection icon is always displaying as 'network available'. I had an N73 and mine never did this. He is just concerned that it is going to be accessing the net without his permission and running up a nice bill.

Any way to check what GPRS data is being sent/received or just to get rid of the pesky icon!

Should be a data section in the log on the N73. A lot of newer phones seem to like to sit connected to GPRS as it allows quicker loading when you want to use the net and only costs for the data used.

Don't quote me on this but I seem to remember if you held down the end call button on my 6680 it would disconnect from GPRS.

What does the Icon look like sorry?

I have an N73 and have an icon always on display. Can never get it off. It could be the same.

It's underneath the signal strength bars. It looks like two arrows, one pointing forward, the other pointing back.

That means he's actually connected, holding down the red disconnect call key will disconnect it

My n73 always has the new voice message icon even though I don't, although I think its a sim thing as it was the same on my n70 I had before, and still has it on my tytn 2 right now that importance posting this off!

Just set the network connection to 'when needed' as opposed to 'when available'.
