Hi Guys

I need some advice, last weekend i was out on the lash had a few too many beers got rather angry with my gf and decided it would be a good idea to throw my N95 on the floor. This leaves me with a problem

02 18 month contract - not due till Christmas 2008 and im stuck without a phone and i dont want to just throw it away because im unsure of whats wrong with it .... Ive spoken to 02 and im too late to take out insurance, ive spoken to there repair department and was asked to contact the store where i upgraded the phone. Ive spoken to one of there monkeys and he said they can send it off get it repaired but he dosent know how much it will cost and thinks its going to cost in the £100's ?

What other options do i have ? can i get phone insurance anywhere else maybe through my bank (barclays) is there anywhere i can get it repaired other than 02 ? The phone turns on fine u can hear it making the start up nokia noise but the screen is black with coloured lines going through it !!!! The screen looks fine tho, its not scratched or smashed

Thanks Guys

Sam

Sounds like a case of

1 - Get it repaired
2 - Use the sim on another phone for the remainder of the contract

or you could try claim it on household insurance but i doubt they cover intentional damage as opposed to Accidental damage.

Sounds like just the screen is broken - although cant be sure of course. You can actually buy screens for around £30 I think - you could even do it yourself. If I were you I would take it into a Nokia service centre (have a look for one near you on google) - and ask how much it will cost. I wouldnt try insurance fraud - especially as o2 probably have it on record that you asked them to repair it...

I know there's plenty of people who will frown at me for saying this, it's what I'd do so meh.

I'd get some insurance from whoever covers accidental damage, use a naff phone for a couple months, then claim.

It's most likely illegal though, so don't do it.

Sounds like just a broken LCD, you're stupid for throwing an expensive phone and i want to laugh at you. But instead but another screen crack it open and pop it in, its **** easy usually (i've done it to many other phones before)... Probably cost you less that taking out insurance then paying an excess too. Just don't break it from now on getting angry, what did that actually solve?
