Name this film!

It's been bugging me for a while. For some reason I remembered a scene in a film and then couldn't remember what the film was called.

Basically this guy gets a call saying that 'she', being his wife, hasn't got long to live and that she's been involved in an accident. So he heads along a road and soon sees a car crash wit his wife standing up in front of a vehicle, she has been pinned between the car and I think a tree? I don't know, it might be another car. The paramedic tells him that she hasn't got long to live and if they move the vehicle she will die sooner.

I think this guy keeps flashing back to the death of his wife? I'm not sure.

Anyone know?

Aha! yes that may well be it. In fact yes it definitely is. What a great film. I've just finished watching Cloverfield which is what prompted me to ask the question because of a certain scene I won't mention due to spoilers.

I haven't seen Signs but I'm pretty sure I have seen the film you are talking about...

Odd that you could remember that but not that the film was based on an Alien invasion

Nope, the bit i Cloverfield that reminded me of the bit in Signs has nothing to do with Aliens. (it's the bit where they go back for his girlfriend)

Signs is brilliant. Until the last 10-15 minutes where they're in close proximity to the alien, and you see it in all its glory in the living room. At that point the alien is comical, not scary, and ruins the film for me

yep defo signs, great film and not atall what i expected from it when i first watched it.
