A few people have posted about losing a relative on this forum to vent how they are feeling. I don’t feel I need to vent I am not angry about her death. I am very upset by it but she was in a lot of pain due to arthritis and then a stroke. I would just like to share my best wishes for my Nan, I hope she gets the peace she deserves. She was the nicest Nana you could ever ask for.

Poem for my Nan:

Nan, I think of you with love each day,
Things you used to do and say

They bring a smile, then a tear,
Because I’m wishing you were still here

There is a place in my heart for you alone
A piece of my life only you can own

Deep in my heart memories are kept,
Of a special Nan I will never forget.

Sorry to hear that its never easy loosing a loved one although when they are ill and in pain sometimes I think its for the best. I lost my nan a few years ago and towards the end she was not happy or herself at all. :(

Lovely poem. :)

Tomorrow will be a sad day for you. but always remember the funny times and happy times that you spent together.

As above sorry to hear that, RIP Lynnies Nan:(

Still miss my nan like crazy, been 5 yrs since she passed away:(. Reminds me that i must take my mum down to her grave for her monthly visit.

thats a beautiful poem
i hope you get through tomorrow ok
just think of it as a celebration of her life, not a funeral
my thoughts are with you and your family

It's almost two years to the day that my grandmother passed away. I felt pretty much the same; so sad she was gone but relieved for her because of the pain she was in. I'll never forget the drive back from the funeral with my brother - it had been sunny all afternoon and as we neared home, it rained a little and a huge double rainbow appeared in the sky above the road. We'd never seen anything like it and pulled the car over to look. I'm not spiritual/religious in any way but sometimes things just happen that make you think 'damn'.

Great little poem that.

Sorry to hear this. Even if the end is expected, as I believe the case may have been here, it rarely makes it any easier when the time eventually comes. I lost my Grandmother in similar circumstances (although in her case a botched operation didn't help).

As MB said, in these understandably difficult times, take comfort in the happy times you've had together and in the knowledge that she is at peace and no longer suffering the effects of the illnesses that brought her life to a close.

Requiescat In Pace.

me and my nan when I was little :)

Sorry to hear of your loss :(

Those are nice sentiments and I'm sure your Nan would appreciate the kindness and love in your words.

I lost my Grandma some years ago, but I still miss her. I remember that at her funeral it poured with rain and someone pointed out that as the sun only shines on the righteous, Grandma must have been a really naughty girl. I know for a fact that this was true!!!

My thoughts are with you and your family. I know that it hurts now, but it will get easier, I promise.
