Hi Guys

I am looking for a drive for my new Synology NAS 107+

Now I am looking at a 500GB drive but not sure which one I should buy

Should I buy one of the following

Samsung SpinPoint T HD501LJ 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB ST3500630AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Seeing as this unit will be turned on all the time should I go for the
The Seagate® Barracuda® ES enterprise hard drive -750 Gb Seagate ST3750640NS ES

Now I know this is a more expensive drive but would this make more sense

Thanks again guys for your help

What do you want from the drive? If you want quiet get the Samsung, if you want good reliability go for the seagate (its also quite fast too), if you want FAST speeds go for the western digital AAKS drives.

On the size matter, its over double the price for a 750gb seagate than the 500gb - use your head.
