Wasn't sure which part of the forum this should go under, Hard Drives or networking, bit of both really! So just move it if im in the wrong one :P

Anyways!
i was looking at getting NAS for a house next year, bunch of students, but the most storage ive seen is 2 IDE drives, which is less than what id like to have.
I was thinking about SATA > firewire converters and just putting a few hard drives into a case along with a PSU, but theese converters cant handle many drives, so i would need multiple firewire inputs, unless there is a way of linking them together ?
Does anyone know of any company's or people that make NAS boxes which can hold 4+ HDD which run firewire or USB2 ( or both) as im struggling to think of anygood ideas for networked storage without spending money on something like a server,

Thanks :)

but that requires a majority of the components for a PC, which i didnt want to start doing :*(
just wanted something simple without the hassle of basically getting another PC and sticking PCI cards into it.

is it possible to do it the way i mentioned or is it completely silly ? :D
otherwise i might just have to bodge it together and see how it goes, home-made NAS :)
