Britsh, and when people put English for me then I give them a slap. Half Scottish and proud of it but not Scottish enough to get away with using it as my nationality.

Legally, i'm not British at all, but that's what I would answer if someone asked me.

I agree. Down with date of births and eye colour too, people can't control those....

This. I've really never seen anything more stupid than national pride. OK, I've seen a lot of things more stupid than national pride, but it's a still very silly. I understand the idea of having pride in things you've done, but having pride in where you were born just because you were born there? Really? Why? If you were born in a Sudanese hovel, you'd be just as proud of that. That's bad enough, but to them leverage it, as some do, to imply or state that their bit of the world is de facto better than other parts of the world - just because they were born or live there. I've seen many reasons why one person might be better than another, but none of them involve where they were born (or their religion, or the colour of their skin for that matter).

When i lived in Scotland it was

Scottish /

Now it's British > Scottish

However in a country which has it's own regional problems Belgian people tend to confuse nationality and mother tongue for foreigners. Which is weird since there is no Belgian language so they are French Dutch and German if I use their logic.
