Hi there,

Looking to get a new 22" monitor from OCUK to replace my Samsung 22" Pebble that has just died (squealing capacitor, doesn't turn on properly to display a picture anymore).

I prefer the 1680x1050 res for scaling and performance reasons.

My budget is up to £175.00 but no higher.

Just wondering what the best one is nowadays for gaming :)

Much appreciated!

that was exactly the one i was looking at, ta :)

logical replacement for my last one, methinks!

5m/s didn't seem too bad for ghosting, either.

now for OCUK to get some stock !

Considering your budget you might also want to have a search for a refurbished Dell 2209WA. Admittedly the warranty won't be as long as the above samsung - but the Dell really is a peach. E-IPS panel, 1680x1050 res and great for gaming.

The standard resolution of 1080p is 1920x1080. The OP did state he preferred 1680x1050 for performance reasons. The B2230W is available elsewhere but it would be nice if OcUK got some stock, yes.

yeah... i'm happy with 1680x1050 as an effective gaming resolution.

also it means i don't need to upgrade my GPU twice as often :P

currently sitting on a new 6870 but don't have a Crossfire-compliant mobo/PSU

so 1680x1050 just seems like a 'wiser' long-term investment
