Ok before summer I decided to upgrade my pc to a phenom 9500. Out of loyalty to AMD and against all my mates who got a Q6600. As we all know shortly thereafter AMD phenoms had arm fuls of problems and got revised. My model no longer exists and only 9550's can be seen in their place. This is not the sum of my problems though as shortly after I got that my mobo screwed up. Trasnferring between more then one hd causes freezing and needs a reboot. Booting freezes for good on 95% of boots and needs constant resetting just to get into windows. I since relegated this to my 2nd pc and went back to my AMD X2 as my main pc. I couldnt afford to send back this mobo at the time and I am assuming 3 months on it isnt RMA-able.

So my choice atm is:
Do I buy a new mobo and use the buggy outdated amd hardware?
Or
Do I cut my losses and, as I am getting a new mobo anyway, fork out and get the Q6600?

I have a nice big £35 heatsink so overclocking is the way I want to go, theerfore should see a big improvement on the 6600 over my 9500. But is it enough of a difference to be worth putting my repairs up by £120?

yeah I am def tending that way as regards loyalty. Whats AMD up to atm? I havent looked at cpus since the 6600 surfaced. All I see now if the news about AMD selling off so many assets and laying off staff.
