Just wondering if anyone knows where to buy some nice pens?

More of a stocking filler item, but since she's just started her PhD, she'll be needing a good pen.

Thanks.

Fountain or ballpoint?

TBH I always preferred biros and ballpoints for lectures and notes - fountains for nice letters. Maybe get a set with both... Or a ballpoint/pencil set like the nice Century Classic ones from Cross - lovely, slender things :)

She prefers the ballpoints. I'm after a reasonably light one, considering she complains of hand cramp after long periods of writing.

She recently had a Cross one which i got her for her birthday and it's managed to break on the twisting bit to make the ballpoint show.

Depending on the budget, larger: Meiserstuck Mont Blanc, smaller: Cross. I know you said she had a Cross pen but relative to those in and around that budget it has the greatest value for money.

How's this? :D

Oddly I just bought a nice pen for a woman at work who is leaving to take up a new role. I purchased it from http://www.websterspenshop.co.uk/

First class service. It was a Cross Sauvage ballpen in Ivory. I'll post a picture of it shortly - very nice pen.

oops quick re-edit for picture size!
