Need advice on Professional Graphics Card.

Looking for Nvidia Quatro Fx or ATI FirePro Graphics Card for about 380 pounds.

don't bother with those gpus

use a normal gpu it will serve you better for less

I am mainly on AutoCAD and ArchiCAD, gaming some time is well. You saying that will be no difference with performance if I use normal GPU ?, well I am not happy about that with my 4870…
What you recommend for the same amount of money ?

Problem is, a gaming card performs poorly in cad, and a cad card probably will perform very porrly for games.

Anyway, anywhere we could recommend would be a competitor, and thats a no-no.

Is any solution for that ? Well.. is not, probably I will try 5850, hopefully it will perform acceptable with AutoCAD is well.

Usually there are options available for flashing BIOSs for certain cards to make them think they are Professional cards. The 4870 is virtually identical to the FirePro V8700 except the memory speed. Some BIOS mods may enable the modification between the two via a BIOS flash. I'm not an expert but usually these BIOS mods are available relatively quickly after the release of the card
