First of all Im VERY lucky to have a gaming pc that can run MOST games at max. I dont mean to sound like a cry baby! lol Unfortunatly i have urge to allways get better equipment! -_- Lol and i have around £150 spare so thought id look at getting an upgrade.. Okay this is my spec
Phenom 2 x4 3.6Ghz (oc'ed)
ddr3 Ram 4Gb
vista 64 Ultimate
Mobo: GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
GPU: 4870x2
1080p 24Inch monitor with a res of 1920x1200
700w ocz stealthXstream PSU
Now im not really into watercooling or crossfireing my 4870x2 (i will do if it will improve things and also find a way to cool them down..my rooms like an oven when i play fallout 3 lol )
Here are some games fps!
crysis 30-40fps on high settings
crysis 25-35FPS on very hi settings (both at 1600x1200)
Fallout 3 avrage around 45-60fps on max with 4AA
Dragons age i dont think its ever fallen below 45FPS on Hi settings (long time since ive played it.. as i perosnaly couldnt stand the game lol)
Oblivion 40-59fps on MAX 4AA (i hear thats normal though)
Now ive noticed this, When i lower AA or quality on fallout 3/crysis/oblivion) the fps dont change. does this mean there is something wrong with my processor? Am i getting bottle necked? or is it even the the mobo? All the benchmarks ive seen show the Phenom x4 955/965 are only a few fps behind i7 intel. and i've seen people saying they can run crysis on MAX with 60FPS easy with a 4870x2 and a phenom, are they lieing? Can you see any where i could upgrade and see a decent improvement? thanks
