Afternoon,

I'm after a new 8 port HBA for my home server (running UnRaid)- have 16 drives, currently 8 are running off the integrated broadcom 3008 controller (this is the motherboard http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/xeon/c600/x10srh-cln4f.cfm) and the other 8 are presented to UnRaid as 8x raid0 arrays via a perc 6/i (not ideal I know but its worked fine up till now) unfortunately the perc seems to be dying, and as such I'm looking to buy a new 8 port HBA that can do JBOD on the last 8 disks.

Does anyone have any recommendation? I am seeing some cheap 2nd had HP ones around, but not sure if it's worth going for those or not...

Cheers

30 secconds on the unraid forums or wiki would point you to the H310, the H200 is equally good, but the port position isn’t ideal for some cases. The m1215 has half the cache of the equivalent Dell/LSI cards from memory.
