I'm a bit rusty with this as I haven't done a build for several years and I've kinda lost track of whats good and whats not.
I need recommendations for a build as, due to a change of circumstances, I'm about to start contracting.
I'm an avid WoW fan but I'll need this PC to run my development software as well. I'm a Controls Engineer so the software I use is a combination of PLC coding software (Siemens PCS7 if anyone knows this kind of software) and SCADA software (Graphical HMI software). I'll also need the system to be able to cope with large Virtual Machines (preferably running 2 at a time). Oh and just out of preference I'd like it to have a 9 pin serial port as I may occasionally have to program the PLCs from this machine.
Ideally I don't want to spend much more that £400 but I don't need an OS or case so it's really just the internals I'm after.
In the past I've always been an AMD fan (my first build was a K5). But I'm open to what ever is the best and I'm not afraid to clock
The other thing is hard drives... Again I've always been a WD fan but again I'm open to suggestions.
So please guys... Work your magic and suggest an amazing WoW/VM running PC.
Thanks
