orderd a 165 going to OC the hell out of it

Currently have a 3200(winnie) @2.5

what setting will i need to get opty to hit 2.6,2.7,2.8 , 3.0!!

333*9= 3.0 right?

i had my current chip running at 333*6 with ram at 133 so 235Mhz to test MB+ram will do it, so if I'm correct thats what i should aim for right??

(corsair 3200 cas2 , asus an8-e m/b) many of the OPty 165's do 3.0? or am I Dreaming? have read most do 2.6 ?

3Ghz on air is hard to achieve with these chips, even if it's capable, temps do become a problem as its 90nm and dual core. I'd realistically aim for 2.6Ghz, (289x9) as your board (not known to be great clockers) along with temps might limit you

Recent 165s are doing 2.8Ghz on stock volts, 3Ghz with decent air cooling isn't impossible.

yup, I had a 165 that did 2.97ghz on air but with the ihs removed, 3ghz wasnt quite prime stable, was still a great stepping for a 165.

just a note, watercooling them helps a lot, keep any toledo dual core under 40c load and it will generally overclock 200-300 more.
