Hiya,

Need some accomodation in Bristol for me and my girlfriend while we are at UWE, and really dunno what to do. We stayed in halls this year and hated it, so are looking preferably for a studio flat which is fairly cheap and doesn't charge stupid rates because we're a couple. The only real issue is sharing a kitchen and bathroom.

Any advice would be appreciated, as to where/how to look? Or even if we're being realistic or not. It's for the coming school year, so starting septemberish.
Thanks.

from speaking to UWE friends, you've left it FAR too late... anything half decent would have gone a while ago

still, maybe always something

There's always stuff going. Go down Gloucester Road and take a look in estate agents windows. There's a flat near me that'd suit a couple for £350/month I think it was. Can't remember exactly, have a look around.

Don't just look at accommodation advertised for students.

I think the OP is looking for something a little outside the normal student relm of delepadated old terraces crammed full of mouldy old matresses and sofas.

Best bet is to get yourself into a few proper local estate agents and say you want to rent a flat with your Girlfriend don't even mention being a student as in this situation it is irelevant. You may land up paying a bit more than the average student weekly but your after sole use of a bathroom and kitchen and this will inevitably cost.

Do you really have no firends at Uni you could have shared with I found a group who seemed to agree with my ideas about cleanliness not all students are smeller wasters!

Yeap, same up here too. You've got to get it either in Housing week for your region or a week earlier? The good places go quick..

the good student houses etc may well do but I'm pretty sure Bristol as a major city will have a pretty healthy all year round rental market for one bed/studio apartments like the OP is seeking.
