hi all, im looking to build a website for work, im not good at html or programming so a website where i can use templates or prebuilt templates.
also want to have ecommerce on the site.
what i would want is to build a site with layout and similar "buy" option to OCUK.

i was looking at using something like this
http://www.123-reg.co.uk/ecommerce/
maybe use the free trial to see what i can do before actually commiting my self.

any thought and ideas

this is only temporary for 6 months till we can afford to pay someone to build for us.

thanks Ali

What kind of stuff are you selling? what kind of volume? how big is the company?

Do a search for "Open source ecommerce" and lots of options will come up including oscommerce and zen cart, both free and very capable.

sell bicycles and accessories etc.
only a small company ( 1 shop+1 workshop)
volume we are hoping that will grow with the website but we obviously need to see how it actually goes first hence the reason making it our selfs first!
looking to sell a few bikes and accessories a day from it, but mainly so customers can see who we are and what we do.

I would look at ZenCart. Its very customisable. Out of the box it will seem rubbish as its set up for America. Give it a day or 2 looking for plugins and the like and it becomes very capable. Im busy setting one up myself and it is great! Works a treat and is a lot better when you get into it.
