Need to give BC2 a rest. Is Black Ops any good?

there are a few bugs for some so read up be aware of what these maybe . just use the grey matter a little though and realize not everyone who ever played black ops has these problems

thanks for the replies everyone, i have got vietnam and it is good...maybe the trouble is the rest of my clan are being very part time at the moment and i end up playing on my own every tuesday (gf goes out so i play uninterupted).
Maybe i should play through fallout 3 again with all the dlcs...i've had it for like a year...

look at this thread already almost troll championship .
black ops runs on most machines fine. the games pretty decent not the best as i pointed out but can be enjoyable if you get it running right and you have friends to play it with.
bfbc2 had similar problems at start and still does have bugs but its a ocuk favourite so i best not question it.
current fps games
cod4 ------------------------------------------------bfbc2-black ops.
cod 4 still is best fps all round.

what about arma2? its bf2 just bigger...might be up your street? its not run and gun though which is all some people want. lots of banter in the big servers too so you never feel like your playing alone.
gogo BF2142. The more people return then the more fun it gets.
On to Black Ops, it is just a rehash of the previous 2 CoD games, but with worse maps and pansy weak guns. Its decent enough but I highly doubt you will find something different from 1 very familiar modern age shooter to an even more familiar modern age shooter. It brings nothing new to the table and the weapons are naff so unless you just want new maps to learn then you may want to try a different genre or timeline in your shooter.

Since upgrading to my current spec (see sig) BO runs flawlessly, never dropping from 91fps EVER.

This is one of the problems with the game - on ~70% of hardware configurations it runs upto 3x slower than it should, often has severe stutter issues and other performance issues - for instance when I fire a weapon it stalls the game for an additional 10-15ms that frame which might not sound like a lot but even with single shot weapons it means the game doesn't react like you expect (usually under 1ms additional in MW2, etc.) and with rapid fire weapons brings the game to its knees.
Then add in the abysmal spam system - on TDM I've quite often run into scenarios where someone will kill me and then I will respawn on the same spot 5 times in a row with my back to the same guy who will kill me before I can even get off spawn or turn around...
And 100 other similiar issues... all of which weren't present in MW1/2.

i have it and played it for many hours but got hacked off that it just hangs on loading or just freezes , not all the time but i find it very buggy and gave up .
I Have no problems with my other steam games but this one .
I had MW2 and lost interest on multiplayer due to the hacking , COD 4 was good though and i may reinstall it soon .
MOH is ok and i play that quite a bit now
Still prefer BFBC2
and regularly play BF2

and regularly play BF2 Can't say I would reccomend BC2 as an alternative personally - its quite a different game and personally I find it incredibly boring compared to Black Ops/COD. But then I'm probably in the minority who actually loves OP killstreaks and perks and have the skills both to get them and counter them effectively and the extra layer that gives to the game.
