Netgear DG834G being slooooow.

Says it all really. I'm with Tiscali and have the 8mb package. Normally I get around 5.4mb but since I put the router on today it's gone down to 1.3 mb. The little 4 light isn't on/falshin or anything. The router is almost quite literally next to the receiver.

Is there anything I can do?

I have that exact router.

Try it with an ethernet cable rather than wireless. Also, if you have a firewall on your PC, try deactivating the routers firewall.

I rebooted the router and that seems to have done the trick for now at least. It's been a bit of a hassel to be honest.

I know what you mean, im getting slow pings on games, so Im waiting for a longer cable (the one that goes from the filter to the router) so I can have a wired router.
