Hey Guys

I have a Netgear DG834G wireless ADSL model router and the bloomin thing has decided it will no longer power on. Checked the power supply (the plug)with an ammeter and its not throwing any power out so I need to replace it.

First thing is does anyone know anywhere that can supply a similer spec plug for this unit? The plugs specs are....

NETGEAR
AC ADAPTOR
Part No: PWR-015-711
Model No:AA-151AD
Input:230VAC 50Hz 140mA
Output: 15VAC 1A

I'm not to bothered about it being a Netgear plug as I think as long as it meets the above specs it should be ok?

Any help much appreciated as I feel a little aggrieved with having to purchase a whole new setup because of the plug!

If the product is still in its warranty then Netgear can supply you with a new one.
You can call them on 0870 1121206.
Otherwise a local electronics store should be able to sell you one that will fit.
I would advise splashing out on the third party adapter if you can find the correct one, as Netgears power supplies tend to be abit unreliant.

Most devices like this are quite tolerant of voltage (within reason) a 12V supply would be eaiser to get and would probably work just as well. Watch out for the size and polarity of the plug (polarity usually marked on the old supply or the device).
