Netgear WG311T PCI card not working on Asus K8S-MX mobo

Same as title,

I have a friend who has an Asus K8S-MX mobo, and everytime we put the Netgear WG311T pci card in, it flat out refuses to boot, no BIOS beeps, nada,
strange thing is, i put the card in once and got it to boot , but on restart, refused to boot again, he flashed the BIOS to the latest revision, but still nothing

what can the problem be?

yep, he has a ide-sata convertor card in it but i swapped it round and still no luck
