Hi all

After some advice please, I've purchased a Buffalo Linkstation (NAS) drive and was after some advice re: best software to use for backup to this drive.
Would it be the software that accompanied it, or use another or even windows backup.
At the moment i can't access the drive, nor can my xp pro see it linked through my netgear wireless router.
Any help with this matter will be greatly received.

Thanks :D

Personally I use genie backup. I find it excellent for backing up to my NAS (NSLU2) box. Very easy to use and there are plugins for all sorts of software so you dont have to go hunting for the files you want to backup (outlook, game saves, firefox favourites etc).

I bought the pro - http://www.genie-soft.com/store/gbmpro.html

As for your not being able to access it, most likely its on a different IP address from factory than your home setup (usually 10.0.0.x or 192.168.0.x in my previous experiences of routers, nas etc). You may need to RTFM to find out ;)
