I'm looking for some good books that will get me to an intermediate level in networking so I can start understanding some enterprise deployments. Please note that while I am not an absolute beginner, I am pretty new to the technical details of TCP, UDP, IP etc. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent assortment of books that would get me to that intermediate level?

Are you looking for DataCentre levle or just traditional Network Deployment in terms of Core/Edge for Campus networking?

Either way just look at the CCNA/CCNP stacks, they prepare you for a lot of it, but nothing beats good old experience, but you can build up 'test' networks in VIRL/GNS3/Packet Tracer too.

Datacentre stuff would be the ultimate goal. I'll look into CCNA and CCNP. Thanks for the tip.

This is the course i did which came with the reading material - 7320 Euros!

As for a price, i don't really know their worth and i can't see them for sale outisde of the actual official SANS course, i did find this set:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SANS-SEC...888479?hash=item1f11d0e31f:g:JWEAAOSwGAheSHVO - £230

What are you thinking, but please bear in mind these are also weighty - just one of the books comes in at over 340 pages (in Lincolnshire if you able to collect).
