Networking nightmares!

This morning my dynamode wireless adsl router modem arrived for my wireless laptop, i installed the usb driver for it, then plugged it in via usb.

Unfortunately i can only get into the settings when my adsl modem is also connected to the internet, i have put in the settings, now when i connect it, i am getting connected at 12Mbps, but how do i connect to the internet through it, i have listed a connection in the settings wth my isp username and password, vci and vpi number, but it just isn't working.

Any help appreciated, cheers.

read the manual try and out find which colour the adsl led is, that will tell you if your dsl is active or not.

Forget USB and use ethernet for a start.

most prolly a firewall? Disable them all then try it again?

You said in that thread you had a Speedtouch 330 USB, and in this one you had a Dynamode router - which is it?

When i do that, i cannot get to the router setup pages, i get a connection but just can't get onto the 192.168.1.1 page.

Output from start, run, cmd, ipconfig /all would be a start, as would trying disabling the Norton firewall.

I amtrying to get my dynamode modem router working, but the only way i can access the router settings is if while i have that connected to my computer via usb, i also have my speedtouch modem connected to my computer via usb with an online internet connection.

try to ping, the gateway.

COME ON!

With the fantastic assistance of chris220sdi, my router is now working. The internet is on, that annoying freezing has gone, i just tried the things everyone had been telling me, but this time after uninstalling the tiscali broadband software.

PROBLEM 2

Setting up the wireless seems easy enough except everytime i turn on the wireless ap, the router software freezes, the router carries on going though and the internet connection is fine, why is this? Could it be because my internet connection is stil active?
