Hello.

I'm pretty sure the Seagate LP 5900.12 2TB SATA2 is an old and slow model.

The SATA 2 WD drive is the older WD20EARS. The new version is the WD20EARX.

The seagate you should be looking at is this one.

It depends what you mean by "the best".

The Samsung and Seagate are the fastest.

There are no meaningful statistics to say any one is more reliable than another.

Current OcUK pricing:

Samsung SpinPoint F4 EcoGreen 2TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM £63.98

Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM £69.98

Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM £71.99

I have 4 of the Samsung drives and I'm very happy with them.

EDIT:

Added the model number in the main post.
I'm gonna choose one from this 6 HDD
so what are you recommend?

SATA 2/3 makes no difference for HDD's so that's an irrelevance.

The WD drives are the slowest.

The Samsung is cheaper than the Seagate, at least at OcUK.

I'm not sure what the HD203WI is as the model nearly everyone is selling is the HD204UI.

If the only difference is the SATA 3 interface then this makes no difference as I said.

Personally I'd get the HD204UI.

I had x4 Samsung F4 HD204UI, they are so loud for 5400rpm drives : /

I have 4 of the Samsungs and 2 WD Green drives.

The only times the Samsungs are noticably noisier is during heavy usage.

But the Samsungs do have a noticably higher transfer rate.

I got the ST2000DL003 (new Seagate ones) a couple of weeks ago. They've been amazing so far. I'm planning to get rid of my old Samsung drives and get another one of these soon.
