I'm not sure if this is old news, but I just saw that 3DMark Vantage is about to be released by Futuremark. The site has three screenshots here (which I've also attached below).

This benchmarking suite is DirectX 10 / Vista exclusive that'll make full use of Shader Model 4.0. The screenshots certainly look pretty, I doubt many rigs will get into the high teens in terms of frame rates for that though.

Nooooooooooooooooo. Finally a reason to move over to Vista has arrived. I wonder if like Crysis there will be a workaround (fingers crossed, hugs XP). Just can't be bothered changing everything around that's all.

It looks very perty indeed :).

How do you know what outer space looks like!?! D:

Basinstoke!!!!! just turn left at the moon.

Its good thats its DX10/Vista only.

If its optimized you never know it might be fine like Bioshock :D.

I hope they take out the CPU tests as it's always been a graphical benchmark other than 3d06. Well 2001 was CPU dependant but that's ancient and in the days that the CPU had a lot to do with how good your games ran.

Yeah just played Bioshock again today, almost completed it in one go and i was really suprised to enjoy it completely again, played it a couple of weeks ago and i didn't find it too cool but i was really in the mood and the whole setting and the way the graphics highlight the water is fantastic. It's absolutely proof that graphics need to match the game, and that indoor gaming doesn't have to be boring in the graphics, at all.

Hope those pictures are right though, it's only a couple of weeks ago that some fake ones were posted.

3DM05 had the CPU tests and 3DM03 did too.

wow that looks incredible. When the developers make these games do they have like 18 ultras all running in some kind of super sli mode??!
