Does the other thread not have the details your looking for? Was full of pretty comprehensive info from what i remember.

Not sure when it will be OTR, but...

The first ones should be about from March/April although I don't know if customers can order before then. The last E60 rolled of the line just before Xmas so they could tool up for F10 production.

I am trying to find the on-line configurator but I don't think it's out yet and it seems that the 535d isn't an option at launch?

No configurator at the moment that I have found, the 535d is coming apparently but late 2010. There is an official brochure with options available though:

pdf is posted there.

Thanks old boy, I think one of these as a daily ****er makes sense as it will eat miles, should hold its value OK in the first 12-18 months and can tow a trailer if needed. I am awaiting Nissan to lend me a GT-R at the moment, hopefully this week as I am off for another week will find out tomorrow all being well.

I will be mucho jealous. Please do not buy a 4 pot.

Although I'm kinda counting on them NOT holding value over the first 18 months.

I'm amazed you think I would buy a 4 pot BMW, I have had loads of them an none have ever been 4 pot, always 6!

Yup.

Some interesting figures I have sales wise for E39 and E60:

E39 diesels sold: 19,104
E39 petrols sold: 83,722

E60 diesels sold: 90,983
E60 petrols sold: 18,694

Interesting stuff, eh? Co-incidently the company car tax rules changed in 2002 - 1 year before the E60 was launched.

They must think you're serious if it's an extended test/loan...Middlehursts? Hope you enjoy it for what it is, pretty sure you will. I'd take a quick gander at the tyres before you set off, if they are Dunlops and it's wet...:D

I contacted Nissan via email last week to a point of contact I was provided who can 'sort' it. I am speaking with them tomorrow to agree what, when and where all being well.

When did diesel become more expensive than petrol? And I thought the 520i used to be a I6?

Diesel became more expensive than petrol circa 2003-2004. ie - it was not a factor in the massive swing to diesel.

The 520i has ALWAYS been an inline six. There has never been a 4 cylinder 520i E39 or E60..

Let us know what you think, hopefully you'll have a decent amount of time with it. Bring some in-car entertainment though, apparently it's a dull drive.
