New Asus P8P67 Pro build won't post or beep - HELP

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18228203

Went through the same problem, spent around 16 hours trying to get it to work and so have a lot of other people on the forum, I would bet quite a bit the new CPU and RAM will not solve the problem, from what I've read and tried myself, everything points to the Mobo.

I would agree with this if you have tried everything that you said you had it is the mobo, I have the identical error with mine. calling the shop today but will not accept an asus board again.

Hi Steve & Adam, wow we all have the same problem??? no post at all, I see your post Adam and and yes its identical to mine, I have the board out of the chassis and only connections are CPU, Ram and Graphics card, I even tried it without graphics card still a red mem light!
Now this is my second motherboard so I don't think it's that, I see you've tried different Ram (I have some GSkill coming now) so I will try the same (arrives today) but maybe it's the CPU. It must work others have the same setup and OC uses the same setup for one of their bundles!! are we just bloody unlucky then?
My replacement bits arrive at 1pm today so will update to my progress then..hopefully it's all good!

I'm afraid its not only us 3 that have this problem, I've seen 40+ threads on this forum and some others including the ASUS ones relating to the DRAM LED, even more threads in relation to the GPU LED or just no power at all, other having problems booting with memory ect.

This board is just a pain in the ass, I am going to be getting either a UD(insert number here) or an MSI board.

Hey Adam, hold on!! guess what parts arrived, I swopped the new GSkill ram in and hey frigging presto it posts straight off!! I think it's just picky with Ram, I like the GSkill as it says on the packet designed especially for 1155 boards and P67 platforms..besides which they are on offer at the mo at the same price as the XMS I had originally.

I noticed it's running 0402 bios which seems a very early version as it's not even listed on the Asus page maybe it's just not compatible with the XMS memory we have, I shall try and update it and try the XMS again..
It might be a dodgy board but I've always admired Asus as one of the best and I'd put it down to early days with this CPU platform and maybe we have got a few early boards with older bios.
Now I have to return the new CPU that came today and XMS mem I originally got and make sure I get all my money back..at least I got better memory than I originally ordered ..oh and my family can finally eat on the kitchen table again, it's been in pieces on it for a week:)

UPDATE:
ok flashed to 1053 beta bios it now detects the new GSkill ram at correct speed of 1600 it first booted at 1333 or 1300 can't remember which. I tried the previous XMS memory and nope same problem solid mem light so it's down to a few dodgy sticks it seems.

I got this memory http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-057-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517, works at a lower voltage apparently. Ade the sales guy (top geezer) recommended them and am so glad I got that instead of more XMS sticks.
Good luck all sorting out the same problem..am off to build my system finally!
