new ATI cards!!!!

Why though? ATI were bought by AMD, they're trying to consolidate the brand name, and build thier own reputation for quality GPUs.

AMD and ATI have never had as much brand recognition as say Intel or Nvidia, so splitting the brand image would make no sense, as it'll further fragment said recognition. At least producing said CPUs and GPUs, they'll help to improve brand recognition of the AMD logo.

AMD look like **** at the moment and I wouldn't like to have a brand that's doing well like ATI being pushed to the back and having AMD splattered in the consumer face. They should just push the ATI name or turn it all to AMD.

The AMD Phenom II's are pretty good.. Not i7 performance, but better price.
On my 5760x1080 set up, our PC's would perform the same, yet your mobo/ram/cpu will have cost you more

There is no difference anymore, they're two different departments of the same brand :)

Either way, AMD aren't exactly hated, and just won a large lawsuit, they've NEVER been as popular as Intel in the CPU department, and its only enthusiasts who will know why, so it makes damned little difference to the average user, who will just buy what they're sold.
If its an AMD GPU, and it works, they'll remember that, if it doesnt, they'll not buy AMD again, any normal CPU these days is good enough for most people.

Again, splitting brand recognition is not a good thing, why do you think Intel and Nvidia promote so agressively, they want people to know the product, it doesnt matter WHY they know the product, as long as they know the name. By marketing both CPU and GPU as AMD, any Kudos helps promote the brand, and will help them sell both easier. (Market/Mob mentality - they make the best GPU/CPU/Whatever, whatever else they do is probably good)
