"New" Bentley Continental GT

A diesel Bentley! ...perish the thought, away with you DEMON!

I know, I know, but high torque at low revs is what Bentleys are all about. I just don't see the issue other than the "taboo" of owning a diesel.

Especially when we talk about the old 6.75L lump in Arrange based cars. It sounds a bit crap, is lumpy/rough as hell on idle and has a comically low redline (seriously, diesels actually rev higher) - When you can get exactly the same experience from an engine that can get slightly more than single digit MPG figures in the process I don't know why you wouldn't go down that route.

I hear the praises of the 6.75l engine sung often enough by Clarkson. Yet you say it isn't very good. I really wouldn't know myself, I've only got experience with the W12.

The noise is why we dont want to go that route.

Also economy, have you ever heard a Bentley driver moan about putting petrol :)

It did red line at 4.5k and it wasnt the smoothest V8 but **** me it did them well for 30 years in one form or another.

As it goes thats wrong it was smooth, just maybe not as smooth as a very modern one.

We needs pics of old and new side by side to see the differences TBH.
