NEW BETA BIOS - GA-Z68XP-UD3P

((((UPDATE)))) COLD BOOT BIOS FIX!!

I've been in discussion with Gigabyte support for awhile now sharing my settings and what's been going on in this thread and Gigabyte have released a NEW beta bios F7B!. Although it does say Improve ISRT+MARVELL RAID compatibility, Gigabyte have told me that This Beta BIOS attached via support is to fix the cold boot issue.

This board is a real pain in the backside to work with after a bios flash, the same thing happened previously. You'd flash the bios, reboot the system and it would constantly get stuck at the bios logo and shut itself off. Clear the cmos then it would finally get to the bios so you can set your system settings up. After setting the default settings ( not overclocked ) and click save and exit it would save and the system would shut down and power back up again before going into a logo loop requiring another clear csmos then it works perfectly.

have you flashed your bios ? reason im asking i am going to build my son a gaming rig with this MB tomorrow and wondering if its worth while updating the bios
 
I have just built a PC with this board and its shockingly awful. I have the cold boot issue when it feels like booting into the bios I try and use the keyboard but it re- boots. I have no idea how to get it to work and tbh I think the board can go back..I shaver never had so much hassle with a board as this one..

I'm really stuck on what to try. I have the latest BIOS from gigabyte but this makes no odds. ?

Neil, can you say for sure that it's completely resolved? How many cold boots have you done since the update? Cheers.

They've released two beta bios's since I made this thread both claimed to have fixed the issue, both me and MOOGLEYS claimed to have found the cure. Then two days later or less it does it again. So far i'm testing it on a room temp theory that the colder the room is the less likely it is to boot up on first time. It went three days without a single cold boot, then it did it and it did it again, had to try twice to get the damn thing to boot.

Gigabyte and their fanbase claimed it was because the bios wasn't backed up then proven it was, so they said it was because of innacurate VTT voltages which again was proven to be incorrect. You've also got the quick boot option and bios logo causing it, that was again wrong.

Gigabyte are clutching at straws and it's annoying people

Apart from the cold boot issue, once it's up and running into windows it's damn good, one of the best systems i've ever used IN WINDOWS ;p

Thanks. Would you still recommend this board? Are there any good boards that are £120 max which are better? Don't want to compromise on features but I'm willing to pay more to avoid the hassle.
 
Well the trouble is, if you send it to OCUK they could turn it on and say hey it's working, try again yep still working and return it to you as non faulty. You turn it on, cold boot nope it's not working.

Not sure what gigabyte is like for RMA's, I'm not returning mine that's for sure!
