Yep a decat with a short can is obnoxiously loud. With a decent sized tail pipe like the Akra and the baffle in it's just right.
If you really hate your neighbours (and ear drums) fit an Austin Racing GP1R![]()
Can you tell me how it was riding the cb1000r please? I've read they are pretty gutless unless you are sitting high in the rev range? I want that instant torque that throws you to the back of the seat, do you get that?![]()

Bring it to the alps next year!
(I want to see it)
A bug thumping v-twin doesn't guarantee usable torque either - try fully opening the throttle in 6th gear on a Multistrada between 40 and 50 mph and you'll feel like you're riding over rumble strips!
Depending on what KTM announce in Milan this upcoming week I might be SORELY tempted by a new '17![]()
Or get a stellar deal on a nearly new 2016 model![]()
Full throttle at low RPM in a the tallest gear ratio isn't going to yield the best results from any bike e.g. the S1000R won't be terribly enthusiastic to accelerate from 40mph in 6th, so does that mean it doesn't have usable torque?
All bikes need to be ridden appropriately to get the best performance from them. In the case of V twins, and especially singles, laboring the engine at low RPM is just going to result in lots of transmission snatch.
Such a great looking bike. It still sounds pretty neutered even with that exhaust though. Is the video representative of the actual sound?
