Whats the tradition? Gift for baby and mother or just the baby or just the mother as the baby wont remember it?

Something useful for the baby such as clothes in the size she is or baby toy and something nice for mum such as bath oils, champers etc.

The problem is we got loads of baby cloths for new born and 3+ months but Daniel soon grew out of them wearing only a few times each.

Coming up to my third now and I still haven't gotten anything.

Yes yes its a little bit of exercise for the wife - but I have to put up with the moaning, sickness and psychotic mood swings for 9 months. (first two were boys and she was normal - seems girls affect their mothers a lot more.)

But remember what season it'll be when the kid is six months old! For a Summer birth don't buy a six months sized summer dress, buy a wooly cardigan etc.

Personally I go for the cop out option of a wee silver money box with a cheque in it.

what about a voucher for a meal in a restaurant for the parents and offer to babysit. They will appriecate (sp) when the baby is a bit older.
