New Budget Build

ok thanks. and btw 500W is enough, but if i wanted to upgrade in the future i would like to have some free wattage there just incase. Are there any cases that come with a 600W+ psu included? or is that a stupid question

The TX 650 is £70 including the VAT, £60 without.
Just fitted my new one today. I've just got a very similar setup to the one stulid suggested (cheers again stulid) but I've had to get the PSU to be sure the GTX 470 SOC will run okay when it arrives.

That antec looks pretty good. also you suggested:

Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD502HJ) £33.98
(£28.92) £33.98
(£28.92)

It has a 16mb cache as opposed to the western digital i chose which has a 32mb cache, and they are almost the same price.. why is the f3 better?

That particular western digital drive is a eco friendly/save the orphans/uses slightly less watts version, it actually doesnt run at 7400rpm like most performance drives(raptors/velociraptors are 10,000rpm) instead its usually 5400rpm.

this round-up shows performance of most of the main players on the market - http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/storage/display/500gb-hdd-roundup.html

Prices are always going down- well nearly.

Buy whenever you want to get a computer.

Last thing - ive come down to my choice of which 460 gtx to get. Its between the palit 460 1gb and the gigabyte 460 1gb. The gigabyte has a 715mhz clock as opposed to the palits 700mhz, however the palit has an hdmi output aswell as a VGA, when the gigabyte has a mini hdmi and no vga. Im still using an old school vga monitor but will upgrade soon. So i dont know which card to get basically. does mini hdmi differ from hdmi a lot or not really
