New budget rig (Graphics card choice)

I obviously assume the benchamrks are much better but how come the GTX460 is so much better when the spec appears worse?
Different architecture. You can have 1GHz clock speed on a graphic card and it would still suck at running game if the architecture sucks.

Always use benchmark to compare graphic card instead of spec...

Spending £80 on OEM Windows is a bit of a waste as you technically cant move it onto a new motherboard. You would have to sell it with the motherboard.

Is this true ? I have transplanted XP onto a new MB in the past (had to re-activate it several times due to upgraded components). I`m currently running a temporary MB while Gigabyte fix my other one, and I keep getting requests to activate Windows 7. I`m ignoring it in the hope that my repaired MB arrives soon. I was under the impression that you can re-install Win 7 on a new MB (or a new PC), but you have to re-activate it, and if you are being "naughty" (still keeping it on an old machine), the old machine`s copy will not be activated (and Microsoft might send in "the boys").

Microsoft doesn't care about pirates any more. Believe it or not, they only expand M$'s market share.

I think you're confusing OEM with retail when it comes to Operating Systems. It doesn't matter whether it's Win7 or XP. You can reactivate your legit OEM copy of Windows by calling up Microsoft and telling them that your previous mobo got borked and is no longer with us.

kk guys, thanks veeeery much for all the replies.

Ive been doing some long hard thinking and i have the following questions which im sure you nice people will answer...

1) It states that OC can make MINOR modifications to the spec but what does this mean? (im looking to upgrade as per the following specs below dependant on system choice in 2) below

2) Im looking at either,
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-265-OK
or
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-258-OK&tool=3
Firstly, what is the big difference between the two above? They have different mobos and different psus... the drone looks better for value but why is the oren such a price increase for what seems like little extra spec?

3) I plan to put a gtx460 in these machines, what psu can i get away with? (i.e. 460w for drone or 500w for oren)

4) The choice would be a drone with upgrade to quad core cpu and psu upgrade to 650 w or oren with stock 500w psu and quad core upgrade., see q1, would these be allowed upgrades by ocuk?

5) See 4) which would you choose and why

6) Would either (or both) of these machines take a double slot card such as the 460gtx?

7) Any other comments?

Thanks soooo much, I love this forum and the community... so helpful!!!
