new build for 3080

Hi Guys

I managed to snag a 3080 ( lucky me ) and building a whole new system. It will be tax deductible and used mainly for gaming, I have a 3k monitor, but I sometimes play FPS at 2k. Anyway, I will be selling my old parts on ebay anyway, so suggestions welcome

10900K I think I will go for
fractal define r7
nvme drive

can anyone recommend me a good air cooler, ram, psu and mother board for this combo?

I presume the case and gcard will have no issues

I understand that Tom's hardware rates the CPU as using upto 325 watts so I would go with the noctua nh d15 air cooler.
Nvidia recommends 750w psu for 3080. I would go with something like the corsair 750rmx or 850rmx

I personally would wait until the reviews of the intel 11000 series to decide on cpu, motherboard and ram but it depends how long you can wait

For PSU I recommend Bitfenix Whisper M 850w. One of the highest quality out there for the price.

Define r7 is huge, it'll be plenty space for the GPU.

For ram I'd recommend getting a 3600MHz CL16 or CL18 kit

That cooler would be fine for the 10700K.

The MSI Z490 Tomahawk is a solid option, as are any of the Gigabyte Z490 Aorus boards.

Just be aware that Z590 and 11th Gen cpu's (14nm+++++++++++++++++

) are out soon. Think the cpu's are due in March, and the boards should be out before then.

Its a good point.. faster single core than OP's planned 10700K, pcie 4.0 to match 3080 and latest m.2 storage, xmp 5000 RAM.... its not on sale yet, and it will cost a chunk more, but Z590 mobos are being announced. Think I would wait.
