New build for a newbie

After years of gaming on consoles I've decided to take the leap into pc gaming after months and months of looking on here at some of the best rigs I've seen!

I'm looking for a little information and help on how to build a decent enough rig to handle most of the games out now (Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Diablo 3 etc), although I'm not wanting an ultra fast system at the moment, even though in the future I think I'll look into OC'ing the system!

I've picked out a few components that I want (Based on the budget I have which is around £1000), and I'd just like some help on what you guys would recommend and what pieces are compatible?

Case - Coolermaster HAF 912 Plus
Mobo - ASRock Z77 Extreme4
Processor - Intel i5 3570k
Memory - Corsair Vengeance 8GB
GPU - eVGA GeForce GTX 560
PSU - Corsair CX 600W
Monitor /Keyboard/Mouse- Recommendations?
Cooling - Don't have a clue here!

As far as storage goes, would an ssd make that much of a difference if I was just gaming? Do they just increase boot up times etc?

Also I didn't really know what PSU to choose as I wasn't sure with all the bits and pieces how much power I'd actually need?

Thanks!
