I am thinking about going back to p.c gaming after a few years break, please can you give me any advice , i do have PS3 but i think a PC would be better ?

Things on the PS3 front are not that good at the mo

My needs are

I want a fast system that will play FPS games like Call Of Duty 4 with no problems with 19 inch monitor + 4GB of memory + OS

I will not be overclocking the system

My budget is £1100.00 or near as

No Keyboard or mouse needed , i have my old ones left over

Not sure whether you needed a case:

Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case - No PSU (Gun Metal Black)
Good case, good looking & Allows space for everything.

Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
IF you do overclock, this will let you overclock a lot, althogh do consider the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler.

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM
Great value for money, Quad and great at Stock, will be fine for a long time.

Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard
Allows DDR2 & DDR3, may be another board to look at - someone may advise you otherwise.

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual (2x)
Good value for money.

OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
Possibly change to BFG for Lifetime Warranty at £40 more.

Western Digital Caviar SE16 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
Good HDD, not sure what size you needed.

Pioneer DVR-212D 18x18 DVD±RW Serial ATA Dual Layer ReWriter

Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-520HXUK)
One of best PSU's around, 520W should be enough, consider the 620W if needed.

Samsung SM-206BW 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black
Great monitor, will be getting one myself.

£1,057.31

Leaves a few things to change too.

I'd possibly try get the BFG 8800GTX, as its £40 more for a lifetime warranty.

As well as that, as you wont be over clocking, you could consider changing the CPU Cooler to something such as the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler which is about £15.

The 8600 is only in there as a price match for the 8800GT!!! (So don't buy the 8600...just for pricing...)

...Could do better if you are overclocking ;)

Total : £1,106.65
