To preface, i'm a reasonably experienced PC builder, but its been around 8 years since..

I'm moving from:
i7 6700k
16gb DDR4 @ 2133mhz
GTX 1070
SK Hynix OEM 256GB M.2 SSD Gen 3 (561MB/s Read/498MB/s Write)

to:
Ryzen 7 5700X
Noctua NH-U12S redux CPU cooler
32gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz
RX 7600
Crucial P5 Plus 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe (6600MB/s)

I'm going to reuse my NZXT S340 Elite case and my EVGA Supernova G2 650w power supply

My question, has much changed since 2016? I don't want any random surprises.

Thanks in advance.

Changes that come to mind
Lot of motherboard now can bios flash from USB
With no cpu or ram installed
Handy if it turns out you bought a motherboard
That has a bios revision not supporting the cpu that
You bought

Other change is some of the new cpus
Will just keep boosting until 95c
To wring out the absolute max out of the cpu
Think that would be more the ryzen 7xxx series
Than the 5xxx ones as my 5950x
Doesn't do that
I know intel and amd say that's how they're designed
But seeing my cpu at 95c would still freak me out

Lot of motherboards now also have 4 diagnostic leds
Cpu,ram,gpu,boot/storage
So if it doesn't post it will keep illuminated
The one it's failed on
Since 2016 Probably ssds and m2 drives?
Forget how long they've been out now
