Hi guys,
I've been racking my brains for days now browsing forums for different answers and I cannot get anywhere at all. I'm posting here in the hope somebody has had this issue and can help me. Please note any time I change any components I have used onboard graphics and uninstalled drivers before inserting.
I purchased this:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18439012
Put it all together and loaded in my personal copy of Windows. I left out the GPU and tried it. I switch it on and it all works, went past the POST screen. I then installed Windows.
I dropped in the GPU and it won't load into windows. I will however load into windows through safe mode. I get a BSOD if I try loading windows, other times it will just freeze and nothing will happen.
Now I thought it was the GPU that as causing the issue so I then took my old GPU (HD4850) and dropped it in. Again this wouldn't let windows load, only it would load in safe mode.
I then wasn't sure what to do. I thought I could try my OLD HDD and my OLD GPU in the new computer. Again, wouldn't load windows. I thought the MOBO could be the issue.
Just to be sure, (now this is where it gets confusing) I took my new GPU and placed it on my old tower. It loaded fine into windows (old HDD). I then installed my new GFX card drivers off the disk. Restarted windows and now it doesn't load.
I'm so confused by all of this. I'm currently at work, I will be removing the drivers and getting my old PC up and running when I get home.
I'm wondering if anybody can help or if anybody can point me down a route I can take to get this sorted?
Thanks.
Edit:
I am certain I disabled on board graphics (when a GPU is detected) in the BIOS options.
Also - I cannot load up a fresh install of Windows. I "press any key to start loading windows" and then it loads a little and restarts. I've also tried to install Ubuntu from USB but it gets stuck on a screen - I will post a photo (from phone) of this when I get home.
The BIOS is the latest version, updated from flash drive downlodaed from GIGABYTES website.
