new car assistance needed

right i have a 14 month old peugoet 307 and put it bluntly it sucks, problems and problems. my dad has been saying if we can get a good price for it then part exchange it. i have been quoted £7300 which isnt to bad, so its new car time i think..

options are ford focus 1.4 LX
Vauxhall astra Sxi 1.4
Mazda 3 TD2
Honda Civic SE

which one and why? if the decision is focus i need to factor in the price of adding the stereo that you get in the titanium edition (looks smart)

im buying a mazda 3 2.0 sport its nice should get it first week of march, go for a test drive its such a nice car to drive for its class, also its built on the same chassis as the focus and isnt as common

if you have nearly 7.5k to spend, why get something boring like a 1.4 that you will be bored of in a few weeks. you can get a 2003 reg Octavia vRS or a Mondeo ST200 for that and still have change. or at least get the focus with an engine worth having.

im only 19. my bro is 21 and my dad is old and it will still be on my dads name, i reckon £10000 including part exchange will be max.

id love a new shape mondeo Tbh

You would get a nearly new Mondeo for £10k quite easily.

In fact you would be better going nearly new for any of the examples given. The new Focus is quite heavy and the 1.4 will be really underpowered, even the 1.6 is just about acceptable.

You can get an Astra Sport hatch SXi on 0% finance at the moment with a nill deposit and free insurance. That is if you pass all the t&c's.

that is true however this is the MAJOR problem. no one under 25 is allowed to drive the car. only people over 25 can be insured, so there is no point in that deal, however the dealer said that he could lower the price of the car as we arent getting insurance. so that is why it is still a posibility

right o... i've been to my local honda dealership, and i have drove the car and quite liked it.

however i asked for £7700 to £8000 for my car. i said that a mazda dealer in london offered me £8000 while the local vauxhall dealer offered me £7700. the honda dealer said that they can only offer £6000 for my car! which i did not like so now i have to sell it privately or through a low milage specialist.

the vauxhall dealer i actually went to quoted me £7200 which isnt bad but i dont like the car as much as the honda.

anybody know a decent low milage specialist to sell my car at, in the thurrock area?

Why are you going to spend £10k on a bottom of the range car?

Buy a higher spec one. If you cant afford one, buy a nearly new higher spec one. You'll get bored again if you don't.

im not actually bored with the peugoet im just annoyed because it keeps having problems with it.

most the extras i wont use anyway, i would like them definately but wouldnt use them. im thinking about looking at an older shape civic
