Just bought a 2018 bmw. They offered an autoglym exterior + interior service/product for £400. Lifetime warranty for leather stains etc, and paint protection. Worth it or not?

Also, where is suggested for gap insurance?
I see warranty direct do £270 for 4yrs

Autogym Lifeshine kit is about £70 on eBay - it's usually a good profit maker for dealers.

ALA were amongst the cheapest the last time I looked at GAP insurance.

Still nearly 4x the cost of the kit to buy though... As mentioned it's not worth it. Either buy the kit and do it yourself or spend the saved money ~£70 on some decent car detailing products and learn yourself..

I’d say no and spend the saving on a professional detailer doing a full paint correction on it, you can bet that despite it being a new car it’ll have numerous “swirl” marks on it already.

I was offered something similar when I bought the Jag. When I checked the small print, you must use their cleaning products at a specific frequency for the detailing warranty to be valid. It smelt like a scam and very easy for them to use those clauses to dodge holding their side of it up. If you feel you need it, spend that yourself on an independent, I bet the BMW dealer is taking at least 25% commission on it.

I would recommend ALA - used them on my last car which was written off. They took 6 weeks to payout but was pretty hassle free apart from that.

Search for 'ALA discount code' and there are always 10-15% discount codes knocking about.

I got them to include it in the purchase price when I purchased mine new last year.

This or not worth it tbh. No idea why people always fall for this nonsense. It must be such a money maker for them. My wife fell for it in the days when she could not see beyond Ford cars. I couldn't get her to see sense either. I still have the free bags of rubbish products that she ended up with now just collecting dust. At least Autoglym is a decent product.

If in Reading I assume the garage along the A33?
