So I sold my 200SX a week ago today for £4,000 due to it costing a fortune to run and me not having the restraint not to continue modifying it. I also quite liked a change something more modern with some creature comforts like cliimate control etc.

Anyway on Thursday I picked up my new car a 2004 Volvo S60 D5 SE with FSH, 12 Months MOT, 3 Months Warranty and 120,000 miles on the clock all for £3,990.

I always buy cars based on overall condition mileage isn't a real concern for as long as its been serviced at the correct intervals and it has been.

To look at the car exterior and interior you'd never think its done the amount of mileage it done. Theres not even that many stonechips on the front end.

To drive its very smooth and comfortable its something I never really experienced having only one old french car and two old japanese cars. The interior is a nice place to be everything is in easy reach and solidly built the doors close with a reassuring clunk. The seats are the best I have ever sat in and the stereo sounds better than the surround sound system in my house.

The engine is in my opinion brillant obviously doesn't have the power I am used to but its quiet when your on the move and only a slight diesel shake at idle. It's got plently of performance for overtaking etc.

Dare I say it or be shot when you put your foot down it does make a better sound that my old SX, not hard to beat though the SR20DET is the worse sounding engine ever.

Anyway I am very happy with it averaged 55 MPG on the way home and I don't really miss the SX. I know the engine can be remapped but I think I'll just leave it stock as I don't want to lose reliablity.

Some rubbish phone pictures below.

Hi, yes it still here and its been great done just over 6k in it now. Not and any problems other than replacing a few bulbs. My commute is all a roads with half a dozen traffic lights in between and I still get 700 to a tank. I can go a month on a single tank of diesel vs a tank a week in the SX.

Apart from.the dull drive its comfortable and a great cruiser for racking up the miles. I'd highly recommend one if you do big miles.
